What a fun website....

I think I could be in trouble here...



It is a website that takes your "art" and turns it into fabric. Unique handmade fabric. Not that much more than paying for the regular stuff. Well it is...but it is unique.

More new art....

Abby and I have been gone for a week visiting grandma and grandpa in NC. It was a very nice visit. We are very lucky we will get to see them again for Abby's birthday at the end of the month.

And yes, that is Abby doing flips.  :)  After getting through the initial "hookup" she loved the  jumping.  Grandma is in the background with the biggest smile on his face.

While we were in NC we talked with a store about potentially selling some of our cards. They seemed to like the quilted cards...but wanted to see some more samples and have a pricing list. Yikes.

I decided to try and make some "easier" cards. I took Abby's art and am now weaving it. It turned out pretty nice. At first I thought it was pretty plain but once we backed it on cards and sewed them together they turned out nice.

I have always been wanting to make myself a paper quilt...but instead I took a larger section of some new art that we made last night and it turned it into a weaved wall hanging.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Abby and Mommy have been busy.  We have decided to open an etsy shop.  And so while Abby is napping Mommy has been working at getting some items started for the shop.  Also, to increase exposure we made some cards to share with the local Quilters Guild.  I took one of Abby's finger paint paintings and cut it into 9 square blocks and then turned them into a disappearing 9 patch.  I love how they turned out because with the dimension of the paint and different colors it makes the square look like a full sized quilt.

After all that cutting and gluing, I decided to sew them also.  That was a lot of fun.  The finishing touches were a little bit of bling and vintage button hair pins.  Those are the main "sell" and I think they are gorgeous.

Later this evening I worked on some butterfly cards out of another piece of Abby's art.  She loves butterflies.  Whenever we are outside and she sees one, she signs butterfly and loves to watch them.  Also she loves to see them in books and she calls them butters.
